Just how does Male Turtle get into that position and even more of a question, how does he manage to get back out of it again?

Sheldon's my cousin and when he sent me this photo I couldn't resist passing it on.
Do you think the male turtle simply slipped off of the female's back and this position is the equivalent of having a cigarette?
