Long time hawk watcher, bird watcher, astronomy buff, and NYC contributor to Pale Male Irregulars, Mitch N., emailed asking just what species I thought the little bird on Bernie Sanders podium was.
He had a couple of thoughts and so did I but being we didn't really have a hi res photograph to look at, or hadn't been there first hand it was a little hard to be sure.
